Firm Overview

Everyone hopes for a good settlement, and that is achieved in the vast majority of Mr. Meline's cases. At the same time, Mr. Meline is a trial attorney. He is ready to go to court and trial anytime it will benefit his client. Many of his cases go to court because the insurance companies will attempt to ignore or under-pay any case they can. Mr. Meline's cases are not to be ignored. Every case is prepared for trial because if a case is ready to go to trial, it probably won't have to, and a good settlement will then likely be acheived. The insurance industry's consistent approach is to do and pay no more than what they have to. If their advantage is stripped away by a properly prepared case, they have nothing to gain, and a fair offer is forthcoming. Where the insurance company is not willing to be fair, we will be ready for trial.

Mr. Meline effectively represents clients throughout four Southern California counties, including: Orange County Los Angeles County San Bernardino County Riverside County.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others?

Mr. Meline has practiced Workers Compensation law for over 25 years. The first half of his career "on the dark side" was representing Insurance Companies and Employers. During this time, he learned how insurance companies think, how they evaluate, and how they defend workers' compensation claims.

Mr. Meline has represented injured workers since 1998 and has handled thousands of cases, all kinds of cases, against any employer or insurance company. Mr. Meline's background and experience commands great respect from the defense, from the adjusters and the defense attorneys on his cases because they know "he has been there". Steve Meline understands and takes advantage of the weaknesses of, and pressures faced by, his adversaries.

Adding to his practice, Mr. Meline has attorney Sean C Vargas, who has exclusively represented injured workers in thousands of cases over 10 years. Mr. Vargas previously worked with a very large law firm, where high case loads resulted in each injured worker not being given the attention necessary to ensure that they received all possible benefits for their claims. Alongside Mr. Meline, Mr. Vargas has the ability to truly devote the necessary time to do everything possible to secure the best result in your case.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

There are large practices where the attorney is not personally involved in the actual representation and development of the individual's case, and the cases are often handled by non-attorney "hearing representatives." Mr. Meline and Mr. Vargas, however, personally oversee and handle each and every case, and do not delegate legal decisions or appearances to non-attorneys.

What are your firm's strengths and style?

First and foremost, honesty is the foundation for our presentation of any case and our attorney client relationship. This is both a commitment from our office, and a requirement of you as our client. That is how we win, by standing on the truth!
Next, since all cases and decisions in our office are handled by an attorney, and not delegated to a non-attorney, each individual case is considered for maximization of each possible benefit. With prior experience in thousands of cases, we are uniquely situated to understand what that maximization entails.

What Clients have said about Steven Meline:

"After speaking with several different attorneys I contacted Mr. Meline and immediately recognized he understood the seriousness of my circumstances and was concerned about my needs. He proceeded to successfully secure all the treatment I needed and secure a very good settlement in not one but two successive injuries and cases. He first effectively handled my neck injury which involved herniated disks and then a serious knee injury. He also protected me from an abusive reaction from my employer. I was subsequently able to retire. Mr. Meline did a wonderful job and I remain very grateful and would recommend him to anyone." James B.

Without Attorney Meline's expertise, professional guidance and friendly personality, I don't believe I would have regained financial stability, renewed physical ability, and a friend for life." Sharon Y.

What Clients have said about Sean Vargas:

This guy is good, very good. I had the pleasure of meeting Sean at a settlement conference that I attended with a friend of mine. I have worked with a lot of attorneys in my life. Sean is informed, explained everything very well, and actually is a great listener. Very rare in attorneys. I recommend him very highly. Tom Piini

A true professional. Attorney Sean Vargas since the beginning was very helpful and always kept me informed of the long and dreadful w.c process. I highly recommend Mr. Vargas to any individual who is going through the w,c process. Dan
