Founder
Attorney J. Patten Brown, III was born in Greenville, Mississippi and lived most of his young life in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He holds a B.A. in History and Political Science from Ole Miss. His Juris Doctor was awarded by the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University. In school, he was a member of several social, athletic, and professional organizations from the Pi Kappa Alpha social fraternity to his participation in ROTC. After his military service, he began working for a large regional law firm out of New Orleans practicing oil and gas law. After a few years, he entered private practice. He has two older sons who graduated from high school in the West Hartford, CT area. One graduated from LSU and is an aide to a member of Congress in Washington, D.C. and one attends the University of Alabama. He and his partner/wife Delena welcomed their twin daughters to the world in 2019 and are raising their family here in the Farmington Valley. Attorney Brown has tried in excess of 200 jury trials and has an established record of successfully gaining fair settlements for his clients and not guilty verdicts at trial.

Pat Brown has been practicing law since he was first licensed in January of 1993. He was first admitted to practice in Louisiana followed by his admission to the state bars of Tennessee, Connecticut and finally New York. Attorney Brown has tried hundreds of criminal and civil jury trials to verdict, many resulting in a Not Guilty. Including Pro Hac Vice admissions, he has tried cases in Connecticut, New York, Tennessee, Texas, Louisiana, California, New Mexico, Ohio and Kansas. He is or has been qualified capital counsel, or 'Learned Counsel", at the trial and post-conviction levels in the Federal 2nd, 5th, and 10th Circuits as well as the State of Connecticut before abolition of the death penalty and represents clients in Capital Cases in Federal and State Courts.

Upon graduation from Law School, Attorney Brown finished his term in the United States Army where he served in several capacities and earned many badges and awards, finishing his service as a JAG officer representing soldiers before Courts Martial. Attorney Brown tried over a dozen jury cases to verdict before leaving the service in 1996.

In 1996, Attorney Brown began his private legal career as an associate at a regional law firm in Louisiana, during which time he was recruited by a client to be Associate General Counsel; negotiating oil industry pipeline and service contracts throughout the world. He eventually left that position to open a private law office in Lafayette, Louisiana primarily defending those accused of crimes before federal and state courts and personal injury matters.

In 2001 Attorney Brown moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he served as a Federal Public Defender for the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. In that position he tried over 50 cases to jury in Memphis and Jackson, in addition to representing dozens of clients before the 6th United States Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, Ohio. Attorney Brown has had well in excess of 50 oral arguments before federal appellate courts including the 6th, 5th, and 2nd Circuit United States Court of Appeals and the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. In 2008 Attorney Brown left public service for good and relocated his practice to the Hartford, CT area and lower Manhattan in New York City.

Attorney Brown has an exemplary record and extensive trial experience in representing those accused of serious felonies like rape, sexual assault, drug conspiracy and the like to other routine offenses such as assault, drug possession, and DUI. His trial experience also includes white collar crimes, credit card fraud, Medicare fraud, Courts Martial proceedings (representing soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines as well as Cadets at West Point), terrorism-related offenses, sex-related crimes of all kinds, tax fraud and violations of criminal regulatory violations like the Lacey Act, Endangered Species Act, and environmental crimes.

Delena Brown

A lifelong resident of Connecticut, Delena and her husband Pat were married and began practicing law together in 2016. They live together with their twin daughters. Delena began her career as a law clerk with the Connecticut Superior Court for the Hartford Judicial District. In this role, she coordinated proceedings, interacted with Judges, counsel, jurors and handled evidence and evidentiary matters in Part A criminal trials. Delena practices criminal and personal injury law. She handles complex Part A and federal criminal matters throughout Connecticut. She has distinguished herself as one of the few people who has secured the release of an accused on parole who was convicted of murder as a juvenile.

Delena graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2014, where she earned her Juris Doctor and Tax Certificate. While in law school, she served as Legislative Clerk to the House Democrat's Caucus where she researched and authored memoranda concerning pending legislation, administrative law, and Freedom of Information requests. Additionally, Delena participated in the UCONN Law Poverty Clinic and attended Social Security Disability and housing hearings on behalf of low income clients in the Waterbury area.

Attorney Magdalena Narozniak graduated from Fordham University in Manhattan with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and International/Intercultural Studies. Her interest in world affairs led her to Universitt Bremen in Germany where she earned a Master of Arts degree in International Relations with a concentration in global governance and social theory. During her graduate studies, Attorney Narozniak assisted an international human rights lawyer and former judge of the European Court of Human Rights in his research on criminal justice reform. This experience motivated her to make the transition from the theoretical study of law to the actual practice of law.

Back in Connecticut, Attorney Narozniak received her Juris Doctor from the UConn School of Law while she worked full-time for UConn's Office of Early College Programs. In her last year of law school, she participated in UConn's Human Rights and Asylum Clinic where she advised clients seeking refugee status, withholding from removal, and assisted with their post-asylum needs. She joined the Connecticut Bar in 2019, followed by admission to the District of Connecticut in 2020.

Kaprice was born and raised in Connecticut. She earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Mount Ida College in Newton, Massachusetts in 2016, and then went on to the Charleston School of Law in Charleston, South Carolina, where she earned her JD in 2019. While in law school, Kaprice interned with criminal defense attorney Chad Shelton, where she gained her first experience in the criminal law field. After law school Kaprice moved back to Connecticut where she worked as a Temporary Assistant Clerk in the GA22 office of Milford Superior Court for two years. While in that position, Kaprice helped people with their criminal and motor vehicle cases and became familiar with many of the criminal and motor vehicle laws in the state. Kaprice has had a passion for the criminal law since she was a young girl, from witnessing how systemic racism plays a big role in the criminal justice system. Founder
Attorney J. Patten Brown, III was born in Greenville, Mississippi and lived most of his young life in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He holds a B.A. in History and Political Science from Ole Miss. His Juris Doctor was awarded by the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University. In school, he was a member of several social, athletic, and professional organizations from the Pi Kappa Alpha social fraternity to his participation in ROTC. After his military service, he began working for a large regional law firm out of New Orleans practicing oil and gas law. After a few years, he entered private practice. He has two older sons who graduated from high school in the West Hartford, CT area. One graduated from LSU and is an aide to a member of Congress in Washington, D.C. and one attends the University of Alabama. He and his partner/wife Delena welcomed their twin daughters to the world in 2019 and are raising their family here in the Farmington Valley. Attorney Brown has tried in excess of 200 jury trials and has an established record of successfully gaining fair settlements for his clients and not guilty verdicts at trial.

Pat Brown has been practicing law since he was first licensed in January of 1993. He was first admitted to practice in Louisiana followed by his admission to the state bars of Tennessee, Connecticut and finally New York. Attorney Brown has tried hundreds of criminal and civil jury trials to verdict, many resulting in a Not Guilty. Including Pro Hac Vice admissions, he has tried cases in Connecticut, New York, Tennessee, Texas, Louisiana, California, New Mexico, Ohio and Kansas. He is or has been qualified capital counsel, or 'Learned Counsel", at the trial and post-conviction levels in the Federal 2nd, 5th, and 10th Circuits as well as the State of Connecticut before abolition of the death penalty and represents clients in Capital Cases in Federal and State Courts.

Upon graduation from Law School, Attorney Brown finished his term in the United States Army where he served in several capacities and earned many badges and awards, finishing his service as a JAG officer representing soldiers before Courts Martial. Attorney Brown tried over a dozen jury cases to verdict before leaving the service in 1996.

In 1996, Attorney Brown began his private legal career as an associate at a regional law firm in Louisiana, during which time he was recruited by a client to be Associate General Counsel; negotiating oil industry pipeline and service contracts throughout the world. He eventually left that position to open a private law office in Lafayette, Louisiana primarily defending those accused of crimes before federal and state courts and personal injury matters.

In 2001 Attorney Brown moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he served as a Federal Public Defender for the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. In that position he tried over 50 cases to jury in Memphis and Jackson, in addition to representing dozens of clients before the 6th United States Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, Ohio. Attorney Brown has had well in excess of 50 oral arguments before federal appellate courts including the 6th, 5th, and 2nd Circuit United States Court of Appeals and the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. In 2008 Attorney Brown left public service for good and relocated his practice to the Hartford, CT area and lower Manhattan in New York City.

Attorney Brown has an exemplary record and extensive trial experience in representing those accused of serious felonies like rape, sexual assault, drug conspiracy and the like to other routine offenses such as assault, drug possession, and DUI. Delena Brown

A lifelong resident of Connecticut, Delena and her husband Pat were married and began practicing law together in 2016. They live together with their twin daughters. Delena began her career as a law clerk with the Connecticut Superior Court for the Hartford Judicial District. In this role, she coordinated proceedings, interacted with Judges, counsel, jurors and handled evidence and evidentiary matters in Part A criminal trials. She has distinguished herself as one of the few people who has secured the release of an accused on parole who was convicted of murder as a juvenile.

Attorney Magdalena Narozniak graduated from Fordham University in Manhattan with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and International/Intercultural Studies. Her interest in world affairs led her to Universitt Bremen in Germany where she earned a Master of Arts degree in International Relations with a concentration in global governance and social theory. During her graduate studies, Attorney Narozniak assisted an international human rights lawyer and former judge of the European Court of Human Rights in his research on criminal justice reform. This experience motivated her to make the transition from the theoretical study of law to the actual practice of law.

Back in Connecticut, Attorney Narozniak received her Juris Doctor from the UConn School of Law while she worked full-time for UConn's Office of Early College Programs. In her last year of law school, she participated in UConn's Human Rights and Asylum Clinic where she advised clients seeking refugee status, withholding from removal, and assisted with their post-asylum needs. She joined the Connecticut Bar in 2019, followed by admission to the District of Connecticut in 2020.

Kaprice was born and raised in Connecticut. She earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Mount Ida College in Newton, Massachusetts in 2016, and then went on to the Charleston School of Law in Charleston, South Carolina, where she earned her JD in 2019.
