What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

We believe that an informed client is a smart client. Everyone should educate themselves on the legal issues that they are facing. It saves the client time and money and we know that most Americans do not have money to waste. In fact, our firm will advise a client if their legal issue is something than can be handled on their own. Our firm is focused on providing excellent service which sometimes includes pointing a client to help themselves and where to find the information to do just that.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

Our firm does take an occasional pro bono case but more often we participate in our community by providing legal services in clinics. How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Mary Joyner began her career in the legal industry by applying for a receptionist position at a law firm while she attended college to become a computer programmer. She got the job and quickly became fascinated with the legal issues at the commercial bankruptcy litigation firm she was employed. She worked her way up from receptionist to legal secretary to paralegal. Mrs. Joyner switched majors to legal studies receiving AA and BS degrees in legal studies. She loved bankruptcy legal work and wanted to continue her career; she took the plunge into law school. Mrs. Joyner maintained her employment with the bankruptcy firm and worked as a law clerk during law school. While in law school, Mrs. Joyner took classes that would aid her career as a bankruptcy attorney. A bankruptcy practices provides Mrs. Joyner with the satisfaction of helping others find relief from overwhelming financial issues while providing a rewarding career.
