James Caltagirone is the founder of James V. Caltagirone, P.A. and he focuses his practice in the areas of personal injury and criminal defense. He is a lifelong member of the Tampa community and has over forty years of legal experience.
Mr. Caltagirone began his legal career at the State Attorney's Office as an Assistant State Attorney where he gained extensive felony trial experience. After his work with the State, he decided to open his own law firm and focus on criminal law. After 20 years of practicing criminal law, Mr. Caltagirone expanded his practice to include the area of personal injury law, where he has handled hundreds of cases covering issues including automobile accidents, slip-and-fall injuries and wrongful death claims.
Mr. Caltagirone received his Bachelor's degree from Belmont Abbey College in 1963. While at Belmont Abbey, he was selected to appear in the 1962-1963 Edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. He entered the United States Air Force in 1964 and was honorably discharged in 1968 with the rank of Captain. He received his Juris Doctor from Stetson University in 1971.
Mr. Caltagirone is licensed to practice law in Florida and has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1971. In addition, he is admitted to the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida.
