The Law Office of David J. Rosenblum consists of a single lawyer, myself, who majored in mathematics and went on to earn a master's degree in applied mathematics. I then, after working as a computer programmer for seven years, became interested in computer law. Upon starting law school, I shifted my focus to the more established lawyer specialty of patent law which requires the lawyer to understand the invention from the standpoint of an engineer. I then went on to achieve a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, and to work as a patent examiner in the US Patent and Trademark office, before serving as an a patent attorney in law firms for seven years.
My computer programming involved flow charting the program which turns out to be a useful skill in drafting a patent application. For example, a more generalized rendition of what is going on in a computer-related invention can be instead represented in more detail, and more faithfully, by flow charts of concurrently executing processes accompanied by their verbal description in the body of the patent itself. Also, as a former patent examiner, I have insight into what action is likely to motivate a patent examiner to allow patent claims and ultimately the entire patent application. The majority of my work is for in-house counsel of large companies.
There are no billable hours. I work diligently to bring you a quality product no matter how long it takes.
