The Law Office of Christopher A. Lamiero

25 years of criminal law experience/former prosecutor. I have been a criminal law practitioner for nearly 25 years. The vast majority of those years have been spent as a state court prosecutor in both Alameda and Santa Clara County.

Firm Overview

I have now launched my own criminal defense practice. I've done so in order to bring my experience to work for those accused of criminal wrongdoing. The criminal justice system is a complex labyrinth not easily navigated by those unfamiliar with it. If you are accused of a crime, you need an experienced advocate to fight to protect and defend your rights. I am here to do just that. The criminal justice system rarely sees the individual. It tends to group people into categories for easier processing. To that end, it tends to treat those accused of criminal wrongdoing as if they are defined by the accusation leveled against them. I represent people, not categories. You deserve representation tailored to your unique, individual circumstances. I am here to provide you with individual represenation. As a former prosecutor, I know what makes a strong defense and I will fight for you, the individual.

Christopher Lamiero

The Law Office of Christopher A. Lamiero

I was born and raised in Alameda County. I grew up in San Leandro, graduating in 1982 from what was then Marina High School. I proudly supported my way through college and law school as a member of Teamsters Local 70, in Oakland. During my years as a Teamster, I handled freight and drove trucks, working for Sea-Land Service, UPS, Arkansas Best Freight, Northwest Trucking, Willig Trucking, Lucky Stores, Union Pacific Railroad, and many other Alameda County Transportation companies.

After graduating from law school and passing the California Bar Exam, I began my legal career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office, where I remained for over 21 years. While there, I prosecuted some of the most serious, high profile felony cases in the county. I then spent several years as a prosecutor in the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office. In my nearly 25 years as a government prosecutor, I came to understand the invaluable contribution to our way of life made by the criminal defense bar. Moreover, I came to see that there is no greater guardian of personal liberty in our society than the criminal defense attorney.

I have decided that I will spend the balance of my professional career fighting for the rights of those accused of criminal wrongdoing. I have seen firsthand the cold indifference of our criminal justice system. I've seen the loneliness and desperation of countless, good people caught up in the machinery of that system. I look forward to doing all I can to help those caught in its crosshairs.
