The M. Harvey Rephen and Associates, P.C. was founded by Mr. Harvey Rephen, Attorney at Law. An Alumni of Pace University School of Law he was awarded his Juris Doctor (JD) degree in 1995. After Law School, this legal advocate has spent more than nineteen years continuing to focus on his dedication and his passion of being of service. After many years of practicing immigration law, he now devotes much of his time protecting consumers from debt collection abuse. Informing consumers to their individual rights as to protect them from harassment, misleading information and comforting his client’s fears and allowing hope for a brighter future. Keeping to a strict sense of fair justice for all, his service and representation are free to his clientele. Being awarded his attorney fees through the United States Statute of The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), which is what his firm specializes in along with debt settlement, default judgment, The Telephone Consumers Protection Act (TCPA) and The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The economic realities of today mean that more American families are behind on their credit card payments, doctor bills, student loans, mortgages or have at times insufficient funds in their checking accounts. Unfortunately, at times the debt collection industry is anything but helpful or accommodating in assisting people to recover from their debt and most of the time it is extremely difficult, outrageously expensive, and emotionally traumatic to resolve. We protect consumers from erroneous credit reporting by creditors and enforce their rights under The Fair Credit Reporting Act. Consumers depend on their credit score and credit report being accurate to ensure their access to credit. Incorrect information and negative trade lines damage consumers access to credit, ability to lease or buy property, lease or buy a car, etc.. Any trade line that is not verifiable, even if it is accurate must be deleted. The plain truth is that with literally tens of millions of collection phone calls and letters going out every day, many if not the majority of people receiving them are being harassed. Most individuals are unaware of their rights or to the extent of the ability they have to curb collection abuse and harassment entitling them to a maximum of $1,000 through law.
