Kyler G. Knobbe

A Cimarron Attorney Representing the Best Interests of Kansas Farms, Businesses and Residents

Firm Overview

Four decades' experience, including a victory before the U.S Supreme Court
Kyler G. Knobbe has provided business, real estate and estate legal services, counsel and representation to farms, small-to-mid-sized businesses and residents of southwest Kansas since 1974.

Small-town traits that have served well
Kyler brings the traits acquired growing up in a small town hard work, moral integrity and family values to his practice.

He is a careful listener and respectful of each client's goals, requirements and circumstances. He is also a straight shooter, not afraid to speak up when he thinks a case hasn't got a leg to stand on, or when mediation is the more cost-effective and/or relationship-saving option.

A commitment to reason and excellence
Among Kyler's many successes is the 1991 U.S. Supreme Court case of Feist Publications, Inc. v. Rural Telephone Service Company, Inc. (Tom Feist was Kyler's junior high basketball coach and high school history teacher in Spearville, Kansas.)

The court upheld by a vote of 9-0 a ruling that Rural could not claim copyright infringement regarding phone listings Feist had sourced from Rural's phone directories because Rural had not authored the information in any sense.

The verdict was important because the Court in essence protected the integrity of the public domain from usurpation by wouldbe copyright owners.

Kyler's practice has been recognized for excellence by his legal peers: Kyler has earned an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest recognition possible in the legal industry, for his professionalism and ethics (for 20+ years continuously).

A practice focusing on business law, trusts and estates, and real estate
Kyler G. Knobbe focuses his practice on:

-Business law - Kyler helps agricultural and other businesses with most legal issues, including taxation issues, commercial and civil litigation, business formation and advice, due diligence, contract development and review, compliance, and shareholder disputes.
-Trusts and estates - Kyler can help you establish your legacy and ensure that estate taxes are minimized as much as allowable and that your assets are distributed as you direct. He can help with the drafting and execution of wills, executorship appointment, probate and estate administration, and the creation of guardianships, living wills and living trusts, as well as with probate and will disputes.
-Real estate law - Kyler is qualified to help with residential home sales transactions, commercial property sales transactions, homeowners association issues, condominium law matters, landlord-tenant disputes, evictions, foreclosures, eminent domain, zoning, land-use and building permits, boundary and easement disputes, and title disputes.
