Workers Compensation
The Work Injury Center at Joe Miller Law is dedicated to representing the rights of injured workers in both Virginia and North Carolina.
Joe Miller and his team are passionate about helping injured workers fight through the horribly dangerous jungle of the workers compensation system. Over and over again he sees folks who simply wait to long to hire an attorney. The injured worker is lulled to sleep by the workers compensation insurance carrier into believing that everything has been taken care of--there is nothing to worry about. Then the day comes when the unsuspecting victim is released to light duty. Suddenly, his or her checks stop and no one will explain why the employee was suddenly cut off from his or her benefits. Suddenly, the adjuster who was so nice will not call the worker back. If only this person had called Joe Miller and The Work Injury Center months ago--Joe and his team would have set the pieces in place that would have provided protection against this scenario.
The good news is that Joe Miller and his team can help-- and have helped-- thousands of workers avoid these problems, and eventually recover financially from the devastating effects of a serious or catastrophic work injury.
Joe Miller and his staff at The Work Injury Center are dedicated to helping severely injured workers make the best decisions to protect themselves and their families when a catastrophic work injury occurs, and ultimately obtain a settlement to help insure a smooth financial transition either to the next phase of the worker's career, or to a comfortable retirement.
If you have been seriously hurt at work in either Virginia or North Carolina, please do not end up like the folks his law firm cannot help because they waited too long to call.
Call Joe's team or fill out the online form now. Joe also says: Please don't be intimidated about calling a law firm. Joe's intake team is really nice and caring and he assures you that you will feel very comfortable talking to them.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Joe Miller began his career working with his father's firm representing injured Railroad Workers under the Federal Employer's Liability Act (FELA). It was here that he honed and developed his trial skills, participating in thousands of depositions and racking up several substantial Jury Verdicts and millions in settlements for his clients. After working in that field for over ten years, he struck out on his own an made a transition to primarily representing motor vehicle accident victims, continuing his jury trial work. Although he was quite successful in this field as well, he missed his true calling of representing injured workers. He therefore began to make the transition about 15 years ago to primarily representing injured workers again, this time under the State Workers Compensation Systems in Virginia and North Carolina.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others?

At our firm we are passionate about getting the best results for our clients. We have noticed that many of the larger firms take so many cases that it simply becomes impossible for the staff to pay attention to, or react to the daily occurrences which demand swift action on workers compensation cases. Joe Miller also has noticed that the public is, for the most part, unaware of the tangled web of laws that must be complied with to make a workers compensation case stay afloat, to say nothing of being successful. He therefore makes it his mission to education the public through the books he has written such as The Ten Traps and Lies that Can Ruin Your Virginia Workers Compensation Case, as well as other books and videos and a massive library of articles and other information on his website

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

We believe in the concept of Strong Justice. Simply put, this is the way we practice law at The Work Injury Center. This concept consists of three basic pillars:
1. Careful Case Selection--we do not take every case, only those who we are in the best position to assist. These are primarily folks with career-ending injuries. If we cannot assist you, we will make every effort to refer you to a workers comp firm who may be a better fit for you.
2. Personal Attention to our exclusive and elite family of clients. We are not running a factory. Our clients are like family, and we treat them the way we would want our family members to be treated in what are often catastrophic circumstances.
3. The right to speak with your attorney. We never put a pink "call-back" slip on Joe Miller's desk. That is what most law firms still do. Good luck getting a call back from your lawyer in that scenario. At the Work Injury Center, if you need to speak with your lawyer, and it is not something your paralegal can handle, a telephone conference will be set up with you and Joe Miller so you can communicate with him directly. That way he also has time to prepare to answer your questions fully.
