Firm Overview

Joe Miller Law /The Work Injury Center is led by attorney Joseph Miller, an attorney who has been representing the seriously injured for over 30 years. We primarily represent those who have been seriously injured at work in Virginia and North Carolina and also those who have been seriously injured in car accidents. Mr. Miller has published numerous books on both workers compensation and personal injury, all of which are available for free download on our website. He has also given presentations to other attorneys and is highly recommended and rated by his clientele, accumulating numerous 5-star reviews from his clientele. Our primary mission is to help those whose lives have been disrupted by serious injury restart and rebuild their future. We excel at this because we provide what we call Strong Justice.
Strong Justice is represented by three principals that we hold dear:
1. Careful Case Selection--not every case is accepted.
2. Personal Attention to our Exclusive Family of Clients--you are not competing against thousands of other clients for attention to your case.
3. The right to speak to your attorney-we have a system for setting up telephone conferences when you need to speak with your lawyer.

If you've been seriously injured on the job or hurt in a car accident in Virginia or North Carolina, please give us a call at 757-455-8889 or toll free at 877-622-8656.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Joe Miller began his career working with his father's firm representing injured Railroad Workers under the Federal Employer's Liability Act (FELA). It was here that he honed and developed his trial skills, participating in thousands of depositions and racking up several substantial Jury Verdicts and millions in settlements for his clients. After working in that field for over ten years, he struck out on his own an made a transition to primarily representing motor vehicle accident victims, continuing his jury trial work. Although he was quite successful in this field as well, he missed his true calling of representing injured workers. He therefore began to make the transition about 20 years ago to primarily representing injured workers again, this time under the State Workers Compensation Systems in Virginia and North Carolina. That being said, our firm still also handles the most serious car accident matters and cases where people have been killed or injured by drunk drivers.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others?

At our firm we are passionate about getting the best results for our clients. We have noticed that many of the larger firms take so many cases that it simply becomes impossible for the staff to pay attention to, or react to the daily occurrences which demand swift action on workers compensation cases. Joe Miller also has noticed that the public is, for the most part, unaware of the tangled web of laws that must be complied with to make a workers compensation case stay afloat, to say nothing of being successful. He therefore makes it his mission to education the public through the books he has written such as The Ten Traps and Lies that Can Ruin Your Virginia Workers Compensation Case, as well as other books and videos and a massive library of articles and other information on his website www.TheWorkInjuryCenter.com and on You Tube.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

Our Mission at Joe Miller Law is to help people whose lives have been disrupted by serious injury to restart and rebuild their lives. We also believe in the concept of Strong Justice. Simply put, this is the way we practice law at Joe Miller Law and The Work Injury Center. This concept consists of three basic pillars:
1. Careful Case Selection--we do not take every case, only those who we are in the best position to assist. These are primarily folks with career-ending injuries. If we cannot assist you, we will make every effort to refer you to a workers comp firm or other injury firm who may be a better fit for you.
2. Personal Attention to our exclusive and elite family of clients. We are not running a factory. Our clients are like family, and we treat them the way we would want our family members to be treated in what are often catastrophic circumstances.
3. The right to speak with your attorney. We never put a pink "call-back" slip on Joe Miller's desk. That is what most law firms still do. Good luck getting a call back from your lawyer in that scenario. At the Work Injury Center, if you need to speak with your lawyer, and it is not something your paralegal can handle, a telephone conference will be set up with you and Joe Miller so you can communicate with him directly. That way he also has time to prepare to answer your questions fully--and you know precisely when you are going to speak to your lawyer. There is no waiting for a call that may never come.
