Dobson Law provides detail oriented scrutinization of the prosecution's case against the accused to protect the rights of our clients. We defend clients in Wake County (Raleigh, Apex, Garner, Fuquay Varina, and other surrounding areas), Harnett County (Angier, Broadway, Coats, Erwin, Lillington, and parts of Cameron), and Lee County. Our firm also provides DWI, DUI, and DUID (drunk driving or driving under the influence of drugs) representation in Durham County.

We understand that divorces and family matters can span a wide range issues, can continue years even after a divorce, and are virtually never a simple quick fix. Our purpose in family law cases center around two very key issues; ensure our client receives fair treatment and distribution of assets when the marriage is dissolved and protecting the best interest of the children in the custody arrangement.

Jeff is the founder of Dobson Law. Jeff grew up in a small town in the Pacific Northwest until he graduated high school and enlisted in the military. Jeff continued to serve, including multiple deployments to Afghanistan, Iraq, and other locations, until he retired. Jeff spent the vast majority of his career at Fort Bragg assigned to US Army Special Operations Command.

Jeff earned his law degree from Campbell Law School, which is consistently ranked as one of the best schools in the nation for trial advocacy and litigation. During Jeff's tenure at Campbell, Jeff externed at Scotland County Public Defender's Office, Lee County and Wake County District Attorney's office, and State Senator Tom McInnis. Jeff also clerked at Cheshire Parker working on a murder and other federal cases.

Jeff is a licensed attorney in North Carolina and focuses on criminal defense, family law, and law enforcement liability.

Shawna Vasilko

Shawna was born in Ontario, California and grew up in Ripley, Tennessee where she met and married her high school sweetheart. Together they moved to North Carolina and made it their home.

Shawna has worked in the legal field for many years starting first as a legal assistant, paralegal, and law clerk. Shawna graduated from Vance Granville Community College with an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2015. She then graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice.

Shawna then attended Campbell University, Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law where she took advantage of international opportunities such as advanced trial advocacy training through Baylor Law School in St. Andrews, Scotland. Additionally, she earned her Master of Laws in Legal Practice from Nottingham Law School in the UK while concurrently pursuing her law degree at Campbell. During Shawna's tenure at Campbell she was Vice-President of the Campbell Law Innocence Project (CLIP) and Project Coordinator for Campbell's re-entry project in coordination with Legal Aid of North Carolina providing expungement and driver's license restoration assistance. Additionally, Shawna interned with the Administrative Offices of the Court, Transitional Support Legal Aid, Thorp Law, and McMillan & Smith. Shawna also maintained a law clerk position with David Venable all throughout law school, assisting on both state and federal criminal cases, ranging from RICO, murder to minor traffic citations.

Shawna is a licensed attorney in North Carolina and focuses on family law, civil litigation, and criminal defense.
