Gregory T. Buckley has spent the last 17 years serving the people of Gainesville and the surrounding areas. A knowledgeable divorce attorney is essential in understanding the nuances of divorce proceedings.
Divorce cases are first and foremost about the lives, relationships, and futures of the people involved. Because divorce creates significant disruption resulting in permanent changes, there are many questions you might have at the outset, such as -How will we split up our property? -Will I be able to support myself? -How do I protect my relationship with my children? -Where will I live? -Where will my children live? -How do I prevent my spouse from moving our assets?
I have practiced primarily in the family law area for more than 17 years.
Mediation is almost always required in family law cases and gives the parties a great opportunity to come to an agreement about some extremely personal issues that they and the other party are in the best position to understand.
When someone comes to me with a family law issue, I am meeting them at a very vulnerable time in their lives. My goal is to make the process easier for them, while at the same time attempting to achieve their goals for the case.
I think that my strength is my ability to connect with clients on a personal level and make them feel more comfortable in situations, that by their very nature, can be quite uncomfortable.
While it is very important that clients educate themselves on the legal issues they may be facing, it is also important that they realize that they cannot believe everything that the see or hear. Too often, a client will come to me and tell me that they have spoken with a friend and that the friend has given them information that is not necessarily true, or does not apply to their case. When this happens, the client can have unrealistic expectations as to the outcome of their case.
