John Gosma has practiced law since 1969, when he completed an appointment as a law clerk for Iowa Supreme Court Justice Clay LeGrand. He then practiced in business, transactional, banking and real estate law and related litigation until 1987 with the firm of Rehling, Lindburg & Gosma, which subsequently merged with another law firm.
His current practice focuses on business law, trusts and estates, business transactions, banks and banking, real estate, probate, trust, business and general litigation.
Born in Davenport, Iowa, he earned his B.A. in 1965 and his J.D. in 1968 from The University of Iowa. He is admitted to practice in all Iowa state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of Iowa and the Central District of Illinois, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit.
Mr. Gosma is a member of the Scott County (President, 1984-1985), Iowa State, Chicago, and American Bar Associations.
