Matt's practice areas include patent, trademark, and copyright law with particular focus on patent acquisition, licensing, and litigation support. Matt's patent experience includes the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, validity and infringement opinions, and appeals to the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the USPTO. His practice has encompassed a wide range of hardware and software technologies used in processing, storage, and networking systems.
Matt has frequently counseled clients regarding commercialization and protection of patents and other intellectual property assets. He has substantial experience evaluating and negotiating technology license agreements.
Michael currently focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. Michael attended SMU Dedman School of Law, where he graduated with honors. He focused his legal studies on intellectual property matters including patent licensing, litigation, and both domestic and international prosecution. While earning his J.D., he clerked at a Dallas intellectual property boutique.
Before attending law school, Michael graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Computer Engineering and a minor in Mathematics. Michael's coursework focused on computer architecture and integrated circuit design, and he also gained experience in software development. During his undergraduate career, Michael interned at Halliburton in the Software Development Group and at L-3 Communications' Mission Integration Division.
Steven's practice includes patent preparation and prosecution, infringement and validity analyses, and client counseling with respect to patent portfolio development and management. Steven has worked with inventors in a wide variety of software and computer technologies including computer/processor architectures, video and audio compression, distributed systems, telecommunications, and storage systems. He has also conducted product investigations and prepared opinions related to computer technologies and biomedical devices.
Prior to his legal career, Steven worked at Samsung Austin Semiconductor and International Business Machines. At Samsung Austin Semiconductor, he was a Network Engineer in the Electronic Die Sorting group. At IBM, he was an application developer intern in Austin, Texas and Sterling Forest, New York.
Gregg is a registered patent attorney focusing on U.S. and international patent work. Gregg counsels large companies on patent strategy, drafts opinion letters, and handles all aspects of patent prosecution. He has expertise in software and computer technologies including web-based computer systems, computer architecture, computer networks, and telecommunications.
Prior to his legal career, Gregg worked as a software engineer for DSC Communications (now Alcatel).
