Honest, Practical Legal Help
I treat clients the way I like to be treated. I don't do more work (and charge more) than is necessary. I don't do less work (and cut corners) but try to do the job right. I promise to work your case personally, and, while no lawyer can guarantee a particular result, I promise diligence, loyalty, and sound counsel. These are my practice areas: estate/probate; general business law; general litigation; contracts; business formation; sale and purchase of businesses; and healthcare law. If you are outside the State of Mississippi, but have a legal matter here, I have represented clients in many states from California to Florida, Canada, England and Egypt.

A lawyer with real business experience.
Before I went to law school, I worked in a family owned business. My undergraduate degree is a bachelor of business administration. I know business owners have to weigh costs and benefits. I have experience in contracts, collections, employment law, and nearly every other area of business law. By the way, I taught business law at Belhaven University for 15 years.
Estate Planning in Your Best Interests
Do you really need a trust? Would a family limited liability company fit your needs? Is a will sufficient? For most people a will is sufficient, but sometimes skillful use of other tools is appropriate. Sometimes segregation of assets is smart. I won't try to sell you something you don't need. If this is something you have been putting off, let's talk.
Settling the Estate
I have helped clients settle estates in many counties across the state of Mississippi. If you live out of state, I can handle your business here for you. If the small estate statute or heirship affidavit will resolve your needs, we can do one of those. Call now for a free consultation.
A lot of lawyers take DUI cases, divorces, and bankruptcies. If you need those services, I'm not your man. My training and interest has always been in the areas of business law, healthcare law and estate/probate work.
Besides working in a family business before law school, I have a degree in business and a degree in theology. For eight years I worked in ministry. I graduated law school with honors and have worked in both large and small firms. That doesn't make me better or worse than anyone else, but it does give you an insight into who I am.
I work solo, just me. That means you won't get a junior associate or a paralegal working your case. You get my 15 years of experience and attention. When you call, I will take your call unless I am in court or with another client. I promise to keep you informed about your case and treat your legal matters with care and confidence.
Born in Chicago, IL my family moved to Mississippi in 1962. I lived and practiced law in Jackson for many years and in 2017 my wife and I moved to Tupelo. I still have clients in the central part of the state in addition to my clients in the northern counties. I used to race sailboats offshore, used to run marathons (note "used to" on both these), served eight years as a hospital chaplain, and have taught at the university for over 15 years. My wife is a nurse and we have 17 children and grandchildren.
