Eight of those ten years he worked in a management level for civil litigation cases insured by The Hartford Insurance Company. At that time the Hartford Insurance Company provided professional liability insurance coverage for physician members of the Medical Society for the District of Columbia. The Hartford also provided coverage for many of the hospitals located in the District of Columbia. Mr. Farrell spent a substantial amount of his time supervising and managing cases in litigation involving health care providers and organizations.
