I have been interested in internet and intellectual property law for many years. Operating an internet based business during very different business environments motivated me to use my experience and skills in this area of law.
I strongly encourage clients to educate themselves on legal issues. I believe that an educated consumer is the best consumer.
I am willing to review documents prepared by clients at an hourly rate if I feel I am able to do so within the rules of professional conduct.
I am willing to assist clients that have interest in representing themselves, as long as I can do so in a manner that does not violate any rules of professional conduct.
I earned prior experience as an attorney with a boutique law firm concentrating in electronic torts. Prior to that time, I was the owner and founder of a public policy firm that concentrated on electronic policy and marketing issues. I also worked as a paralegal with the United States Department of Justice's Antitrust Division and served as a legal intern with the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
I have worked to obtain a variety of experiences that better enable me to assist clients. I am a former internet business owner and I can appreciate the challenges that come with running a business. I also have government experience that can be quite useful in assisting clients with compliance matters and other issues that often come up in my practice.
I pride myself in assisting clients in a simple, matter-of-fact manner. However, I aim to maintain compassion for the emotions and stress that are often associated with legal problems clients may be facing.
Personal interests:I am a sports fan and "weekend warrior." I also enjoy traveling domestically and internationally.
