Omaha, Nebraska personal injury and criminal defense lawyer. Our office specializes car accident injury cases and defense of criminal/DUI charges.
I worked as a criminal prosecutor in the Douglas County Attorney's Office in Omaha, Nebraska. In September of 2007, I decided to leave my job as a criminal prosecutor and open The Law Office of Eric R. Chandler. In 2009, Becky Hanson joined the office as a legal assistant. Since then, Becky and I, along with occasional help from other local area attorneys, have focused all of our energy on helping people who have either been injured in a car accident or have been arrested on criminal charges. Our law office focuses on personal injury and criminal defense law. We specialize in car accident injury cases, serious criminal charges and DUI defense.

All of our services are either for handling of injury claims or defense of criminal charges. Attorney fees for motor vehicle injury cases are paid on a contingent basis. Our office does not get paid unless the client gets paid. Almost all criminal defense cases, including DUI, are billed at a flat rate. The client and I will agree on a flat fee within the first few meetings that suits the specific facts of that person's case. Then a payment schedule will be set up accordingly. Often times, there is a flat rate for pretrial attorney services, and an additional amount paid if and when a case proceeds to trial.
More often than not, we are paid on a contingency fee basis or based on an agreed upon flat rate.

DUI/DWI Defense - The Law Office of Eric R. Chandler handles all types of criminal defense matters, including, but not limited to: driving under the influence (DUI), drug charges, gun charges, theft and serious assaults.
Prior to opening The Law Office of Eric R. Chandler, Mr. Chandler worked as a criminal prosecutor in the Douglas County Attorney's Office. Since leaving the prosecutor's office in 2007, Mr. Chandler has focused his practice on defending persons charged with criminal offenses and helping victims injured in car accidents. Because of his strong background in both litigation and criminal defense, Mr. Chandler is able to represent persons charged with a variety of offenses, whether in state or federal court.
My primary areas of practice came naturally to me. After I fell into my job as a prosecutor, criminal defense law was an easy choice. As far as personal injury work, prosecuting personal injury cases for persons injured in car accidents is very similar to prosecuting a criminal case. Both areas of practice involve trial work and a great amount of time in the courtroom. I enjoy meeting with clients, I enjoy helping people out of jams, and I enjoy going to court and being a part of the courthouse community.
Eric Chandler was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas Business School before heading back to Nebraska for law school. After graduating from the University of Nebraska School of Law, Eric began work as a criminal prosecutor with the Douglas County Attorney's Office. In 2007, Eric left his job as a prosecutor to open The Law Office of Eric R. Chandler. Since then, he has focused his practice on helping people who have been injured in accidents or are facing criminal prosecution.
