Attorney Keith Stoney is a veteran criminal defense attorney with more than 30 years of experience in criminal law. He has experience in nearly every facet of criminal law and has worked as a prosecutor, police officer, educator, judge, and attorney. He uses his extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system to provide his clients with the high-quality counsel they need to protect their rights. He is a dedicated attorney who now exclusively dedicates his practice to defending the rights of the accused.
Mr. Stoney’s career in criminal law has reached into nearly every branch of the criminal justice system. He is a former police officer and also worked as a prosecutor for 18 years. He has done extensive work in education, including as a legal instructor at the Utah Police Academy and Utah Corrections Academy and as trainer for judges on search and seizure, domestic violence, laws of arrest, and rules of evidence. Mr. Stoney also taught Domestic Violence courses for Western Community Policing, and worked as a nationwide police officer instructor on DUI for the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration.
In his current practice at Jarvis & Associates, he utilizes his years of experienced as a criminal defense lawyer, instructor, and prosecutor to help his clients protect their rights. Ms. Jarvis earned a B.S. in criminology and a B.S. in sociology from the University of Utah in 2002. She then went on to earn her J.D. at the California Western School of Law in 2004. During her time in law school, she worked with the California Innocence Project, which works to overturn wrongful convictions. After passing the bar exam, she was admitted to practice in the state of Utah in 2005.
Ms. Jarvis worked for several years as an attorney in the West Valley City Prosecutorâs Office and for the City of Saratoga Springs, gaining more than six years of experience in the courtroom as a prosecutor in Salt Lake, Davis, and Utah counties. In 2011, she moved into private practice as an attorney at Allan & Easton, and in 2014, founded her own firmâJarvis & Associates, where she now devotes her practice to protecting the rights of the accused.
Ms. Jarvis is an active member of the legal community, and is a member of several prestigious legal organizations, including the National Trial Lawyers Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Additionally, she has been honored with several awards, including:
