Firm Overview

Creating an estate plan is an important task. Well-crafted wills, trusts and other estate planning documents can protect your estate from estate transfer taxes and preserve a legacy for your beneficiaries and heirs. Doing so when you are of sound mind ensures your wishes will be followed after you are no longer able to care for yourself or your family. However, New York wills, trusts and estates law has strict guidelines governing estate planning tools.

As an attorney, I work closely with clients, accountants, appraisers and other third parties to build an estate plan in accordance with New York laws. I have in-depth knowledge of all regulatory guidelines, as well as New York state and federal estate transfer taxes, and I always keep these issues in mind as I work with clients to make legally sound documents. I have more than 43 years of experience helping clients plan for their futures and walking them through the estate administration process.

Primary practice areas

My practice is dedicated to helping clients with:

-Estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, healthcare proxies and powers of attorney documents
-Estate administration, including probate, administration, litigating contested probate, administration and judicial accounting
-Elder law, including assisting clients in asset preservation
Wealth management services tailored to your needs

Confused about what estate planning document will best fit your specific needs? Every tool has benefits and some have drawbacks - you should be aware of when making an estate plan. I can explain the purpose of different estate planning tools and how each one can be used to protect your well being and your assets. To better meet your needs, I keep flexible office hours and often visit the homes of elderly clients with mobility issues. My office is also handicap accessible.

It is crucial you have a will or trust stating how you wish to distribute your assets, regardless of the amount of real or personal property involved.

I help clients build estate plans with wealth management goals in mind. I provide assistance creating wills and trusts that minimize estate taxes while protecting your wishes and your loved ones. I have a thorough understanding of New York state and federal estate transfer taxes.

I also have extensive experience dealing with the complex relationship between Medicare and Medicaid eligibility as related to estate planning.
