With 24 years of experience we can manage your financial questions and assist you in understanding the complex bankruptcy requirements.

We know that bankruptcy can be a very powerful tool to help you deal with a significant debt problem and make a fresh start. We won’t talk down to you. Instead, we’ll treat you with respect and offer real solutions. Our office has the skill and experience to guide you through some of the most difficult economic decisions.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Personal and professional. I believe that the path for every client is unique and must be individually evaluated. In some instances the discussion is focused on what went wrong while in other discussions the focus is upon what solutions are available to bring about the best result given the goals of the client. I have to hear the information, listen for the relevant clues, weed out the emotional aspects and bring to the table a varied and sometimes vast set of optional course corrections. Chapter 7, the complete cancellation of eligible debts, may not always be the best way or only way to deal with the financial problems. Knowing the rules and parameters for the various chapters in bankruptcy helps determine if any one of the available tools can bring the client closer to their immediate and long term goals. Knowing and understanding the civil remedies and non bankruptcy remedies can also enhance the goals of a client and offer some less socially awkward impacts. I have a passion for finance matters and I believe that unfortunate events can lead to very difficult financial circumstances. I believe that my legal services, both in bankruptcy matters, real estate matters and general civil matters add up to an advantage in knowledge which I combine with my experience and fueled with passion to give a truly fresh start to businessmen, parents, college graduates, professionals just about any person who dares to ask the question "What can I do to fix this?". I decided to conduct my focus in the law on bankruptcy because I know that I can (in many instances, but not all) fix the issue in a legal and responsible way.

William Donaldson

Donaldson & Norris, LLC

I have an undergraduate degree in finance/accounting. I am a NY and CT licensed attorney in the state court. I am admitted to the 2nd Circuit Federal Court in CT and in the Southern and Easter Districts of New York. I have a CT and NY real estate brokers license. I am confident that I can help consumers and small-business owners rebuild their financial lives by using the tools of my education and experience after job loss, uninsured medical expenses, foreclosure, business problems and insurmountable credit-card debt. I have helped people obtain mortgage loan modifications either directly with the lender or through the Connecticut’s Foreclosure Mediation Program. I have been negotiating short sales for homeowners and successfully have helped many people out of what was their single largest debt. If you have the courage to ask for help, I will apply my experience and resources to guide you through your distressed financial condition.
