Mr. Doval is an Associate Professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus' MBA program where his predominant contributions are in the fields of law and ethics. Prior to his time at UMGC, he was business faculty at both Morgan State University and Virginia State University. He has spent his career working to promote education outcomes for underserved communities. Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia since 2011, Mr. Doval's expertise is in business ethics, business law, intellectual property, and immigration law. Mr. Doval's professional career has been focused on the management and business development of small to medium-sized law firms. Formerly a Managing Partner at Diaspora Law - Immigration Lawyers (www.diasporalaw.com), Mr. Doval oversaw all aspects of the firm's daily and digital operations across a twelve property virtual office network. He is an advocate in supporting a partisan neutral pro-immigrant humanitarian effort through business and legal services.
Mr. Doval received his Juris Doctorate and Master of Telecommunications, Security and Network Management from Syracuse University (Go Orange!) with a focus on Internet Law, Intellectual Property and Technology Commercialization. He received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University (Go Rams!) in Philosophy, with minors in both Religious Studies and English. As well, Mr. Doval has completed Yale University’s (Go Bulldogs!) Sherwin B. Nuland Institute in Bioethics with Special Honors, where we returned to assist in content creation and educating professionals and students on the intersections of business and bioethics.
Mr. Doval is an accomplished scholar and has published in several peer-reviewed legal, public policy, and management journals. Further, he has presented his work at both nationally and internationally acclaimed conferences.

Mr. Barbosa founded Diaspora Law aiming at connecting community-oriented attorneys in order to provide comprehensive immigration services. He brings his previous experience to provide the assistance the community currently seeks. Mr. Barbosa speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese (Conversational).
Mr. Barbosa sees immigration as a human rights-oriented practice. He previously worked with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees as a Legal Assistant and with the Service Employees International Union, as an organizer. As an Immigration Attorney, he has been able to explain complicated options in understandable terms to his clients.
His previous academic and work experiences have taken him for extended periods to Japan, Brazil, China, the United Kingdom, and Chile. He speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Mr. Barbosa is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey, and Rotary International. He constantly collaborates and organizes community-based organizations that advocate for the advancement of their societies.

Ms. Mohkamkar earned a Bachelor of Law degree from The University of Isfahan in July 2009 and a Master of Law degree from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law in December 2014. While at the University of Isfahan, she received honors as the top 0.13% of all applicants on the Iranian countrywide university entrance exam (Konkoor). As a result of her background and studies, Ms. Mohkamkar is fluent in English and Native Farsi.
After graduating, Ms. Mohkamkar worked for the International Rescue Committee assisting clients directly with processing and filing immigration applications. Ms. Mohkamkar also worked as a Notary Public at the Sahba Notary Public Office in Isfahan, Iran. Currently, Ms. Mohkamkar is an associate attorney of Diaspora Law, available across offices. Ms. Mohkamkar is also admitted to practice law in Immigration Courts nationwide. She concentrates her practice on removal defense, asylum, employment-based, and family-based immigration.
Ms. Mohkamkar has been involved in various activities. She volunteered at North Penn Legal Services where she assisted in practice areas such as mortgage and foreclosure, family law, social security, and disability. In 2013, she volunteered at the National Lawyer Guild where she reviewed clientâs problems and referred them to the best law clinic based on an assessment of their legal issue. Ms. Mohkamkar is a member of the New York Bar Association and the Iranian American Lawyers Association.
As an immigrant herself, Ms. Mohkamkar went through the struggles she sees her clients going through daily. A heightened sense of empathy for her clients and their stories motivates Ms. Mohkamkar to fiercely advocate for them with a sense of devotion. Being able to help a community she closely relates to feels like a privilege to Ms. Mohkamkar.
