Certified and Credentialed Divorce Mediator,Family Law Attorney-Expertise You Can Rely On
I tried lawsuits for 27 years at the litigation firm of Wilson, Grosenheider, Moore & Jacobs before becoming a mediator at Lakeside Mediation for 6 years, the largest mediation firm in Austin. I have been mediating and representing clients in divorce and family law cases for over 10 years.
Listed in "Texas Top Rated Lawyers," the definitive guide to legal representation in Texas.I advocate for the peaceful resolution of divorce cases at the lowest price.
I have argued three cases in the Texas Supreme Court, Royal Globe Ins. Co. v. Bar Consultants, Inc.577 S.W.2d 688, (Tex., 1979); Chitsey v. National Lloyds Ins. Co. 738 S.W.2d 641 (Tex., 1987); McClure v. Allied Stores of Texas, Inc. 608 S.W.2d 901 (Tex., 1980).
I have handled too many cases in the Texas Courts of Appeal to list. All of the Supreme Court cases and many of my cases in the Courts of Appeals are published in law books and relied on by lawyers and judges as authority in making legal arguments and decisions.

I really did not choose to become a family lawyer. Family law chose me. I did not wake up one day and say that this is the day I start doing family law. I just started helping people, one at a time. Then one day I realized that this is my calling.
The attorney-client relationship is a partnership that requires that the attorney and client act as a team. An educated client is better able to participate in making wise decisions and has an appreciation for what is important. I encourage and help my clients educate themselves so that they will be a valuable member of the team. I do not make decisions without discussing the decision with the client, and I always explain why I make a recommendation. When a client understands the reason, they can bring to my attention facts that they did not know were important.
I am frequently asked to review documents prepared by those who want to handle their divorce themselves. I encourage those who prepare their own divorce papers to always have them reviewed by an attorney, particularly if there are children involved, if they own real estate, or they have retirement accounts. You will never be pressured to hire me to handle your case, and I will never make you feel dumb if mistakes were made.
I give clients that want to represent themselves a step by step checklist of things they need to know to appear before a judge to get divorced. Questions like "where do I go and what do I ask for" are all answered.
I was a partner in the law firm of Wilson, Grosenheider, Moore & Jacobs, a litigation firm that grew to 25 lawyers.
In addition to having experience, you also want an intelligent lawyer. I excelled in law school and was editor of the law review. You have to be near the very top of your class to even become eligible to write for the law review, and most of those who become eligible never make it.
Muhammad Ali, the great boxer, once said that he floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee. I like being as gentle as a dove but as wise as a serpent. Or maybe walk softly and carry a big stick. They all capture the essence of the way I practice law. Be as professional, reasonable, and non-confrontational as possible, but you better know how to take care of your client when you encounter that other kind of lawyer.Personal interests:
I do have a life outside of the law. It is not very different from what I do as a lawyer. I help people. I just do it at a different location. I do it at church.
