He is the former President of the Southwest Florida Bankruptcy Professionals Association, and has served on the Boards of The Village School of Naples and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Suncoast. Mike was a member of the Leadership Collier Class of 2015 and a volunteer for Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida. He is also the former president of the Naples Toastmasters Club.

Mr. Haman received his Doctor of Law degree from Emory University School of Law in 2018. He is a graduate of Emory University School of Law's Transactional Law and Skills Certificate program one of the most celebrated and prestigious experiential learning programs in the United States.
Mr. Haman earned the privilege of serving as a Managing Editor for the Emory Corporate Governance and Accountability Review, where he received a journal certificate for "excellence in Legal Scholarship". In 2017, he wrote numerous decisions for Administrative Judges while serving as a Summer Judicial Clerk with the United States Merit Systems Protection Board.
