Cummings Manookian PLC

We leverage our combined decades' worth of experience representing the nation's largest corporations and insurance companies to obtain the highest possible dollar recovery for people, families, and small businesses, either by settlement or jury trial

Firm Overview

YOU GET ONE SHOT AT THE RECOVERY YOU DESERVE. YOU NEED REAL TRIAL LAWYERS. Lawyers whose track record and very presence in your case convey the seriousness of your claim. Not the guy from the billboards who hasn't seen a courtroom in twenty years. And not the out-of-state lawyer who spends more time in front of a camera than a jury. You need tough, trial-tested advocates who are ready and willing to battle it out in court no matter the size or the clout of your opponent. WE ARE THOSE LAWYERS. One hundred percent of our practice is devoted to litigation. Enforcing your rights, making you whole, and securing your highest possible recovery is what we do. We make defendants pay: either through a maximum value settlement, or by dragging them onto our home turf the courtroom. IN THE MEANTIME, YOU OWE US NOTHING. All of our cases are taken on a contingency fee basis. That means that while we're fighting for you, we do so at our own expense. We are only paid after we win. No recovery for you, no fee for us. IT'S TIME TO ACT. You're here because you know you need to take action, and that's a credit to you. Use our free evaluation form to tell us about your case, and get the peace of mind that comes with knowing experienced trial lawyers are working to secure the justice you deserve.

Brian Manookian

Cummings Manookian PLC

Brian Manookian represents plaintiffs in complex, catastrophic injury, and class action cases. One hundred percent of his practice is devoted to litigation. He has handled and prevailed in major actions in areas of law as varied as health care liability, constitutional claims, consumer protection, and business disputes. Known for both his intellect and aggressive approach to litigation, Brian's clients describe him as the go-to guy when the defendant won't budge, and it's time to go to battle.

Brian grew up in Nashville and has deep roots in the community. After graduating from Goodpasture Christian School and Lipscomb University, he turned down scholarship offers from multiple Ivy League and top law schools across the country, choosing to stay home in Middle Tennessee. Brian attended Vanderbilt University Law School on scholarship where he distinguished himself academically, including being selected for Law Review and serving as an editor.

In practice, Brian's clients range from Fortune 500 companies and high-profile politicians to small businesses and families. He takes pride in being available to them at all hours of the day and night, going so far as to ensure that each one has his personal cell and home phone numbers. As for defendants, Brian's relentless style of litigation is unique even among trial lawyers. And it's so effective, he is frequently hired by the very same entities he previously sued. Of the many indicators of an attorney's skill and success, Brian believes having former adversaries retain him to represent them in future matters is quite possibly the highest practical endorsement an attorney can receive.

Brian Cummings

Cummings Manookian PLC

Brian Cummings has 17 years of litigation experience, successfully handling and trying scores of medical malpractice and personal injury cases. He has vast experience analyzing claims and facts in order to gain judgments and settlements for his clients. He enjoys helping clients navigate the legal system, including helping them manage the stress they experience when other people's actions bring them into the litigation arena. Brian enables his clients to focus on their work and daily lives by entrusting the litigation process to him.

Brian has the highest rating available for attorneys from Martindale-Hubbell, having been designated as AV Preeminent. The AV rating means a lawyer's peers (attorneys/judges) rank him at the highest level of professional excellence.

Brian is a Fellow of The Litigation Counsel of America (LCA). The LCA is a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than one half of 1% of American lawyers. Membership is by invitation only. Selection is based on effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation, as well as ethical reputation. Brian is one of only 10 attorneys in Nashville who are members.

Brian is board-certified as a Medical Malpractice attorney by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys. He is one of less than 20 attorneys in Tennessee who have earned this certification. Board-certification is awarded only after having one's trial experience vetted and passing an extensive written exam. Most recently, Brian was named a Fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation. Fellows are selected by vote of other experienced lawyers, with each new class being limited to 2% of the Bar.

Brian has multiple jury trial successes, and he has obtained strong settlements for his clients. He makes a point to develop themes and exhibits to share with juries to complement the concise, jury-friendly, and story-telling style he uses at trial. Brian speaks frequently at litigation seminars by invitation, with the most common request being that he share with other lawyers his insight and experience on how to prepare and present the best arguments and stories to persuade juries.

Brian is licensed to practice law in Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Hawaii, and California.
