Mike, a Winston-Salem native, has been handling Social Security disability, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and Medicaid disability cases since 2005 when he began with Legal Aid of North Carolina, Inc. in Morganton, North Carolina. In addition to his disability work at Legal Aid, Mike also provided free legal services to low-income people throughout western North Carolina. His areas of legal practice ranged from consumer protection, to employment law, to landlord/tenant litigation. After spending almost six years with Legal Aid, Mike returned to his hometown to focus on Social Security disability, personal injury, and workers' compensation law. Over the past few years, he has successfully helped hundreds of disabled individuals across the state navigate the Social Security disability appeal process.
Mike and his wife, Kasi, recently welcomed their first child into the world - a son, who they named Carter. In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife, son, family, and friends. He and Kasi love to cook. Mike is also an avid sports fan, and particularly loves ACC basketball and football.
