The firm was established on June, 1, 1980, by Dave Comstock, Larry Springer and Tom Wilson. Over the years, the firm has grown to its current size of nine active lawyers, a paralegal and ten full-time secretaries. One of the founders, Dave Comstock, is of counsel to the firm. The age and experience of the various lawyers permit the firm to provide clients with adequate and cost effective representation ranging from relatively simply, low-damage lawsuits to very complex and serious litigation.
Comstock, Springer & Wilson Co., LPA concentrates its practice in the area of civil litigation with heavy emphasis on defense. The firm is privileged to represent a number of insurance carriers, four local hospitals and several fire districts which demonstrates the broad range of civil trial practice ranging from automobile and casualty cases through arson, theft and medical malpractice. However, the firm does not limit itself strictly to corporate clients and has experienced some very successful results representing individual clients.

Attorneys Comstock Sr., Springer, Wilson and Buck have each tried over 100 cases to jury verdicts. Scott Fowler attended Ohio Wesleyan University where he graduated summa cum laude in 1981 and was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa. A 1984 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Law, Scott began his legal career with Comstock, Springer & Wilson that same year and became a partner in the firm in 1990.
He was a Trustee of the Mahoning County Bar Association and also served as President from 1996-1997. He has served on the Grievance, Unauthorized Practice of Law, Membership and Inquiry Committees since 1992, and has served as liaison to the Newsletter, Historical, Young Lawyers, Medical-Legal and Grievance committees. He is also a member of the Ohio State and American Bar Associations. A resident of Canfield, Ohio, Scott serves on that community's Design/Historical Preservation Committee.
Scott Fowler's practice is concentrated in the areas of Automobile Liability and Premises Liability, Medical Malpractice, General and Civil Litigation, Municipal Liability and Civil Rights Litigation.
Tom Wilson attended Villanova University and graduated in 1976 from the University of Toledo Law School where he was Associate Editor of the Law Review. He is a member of the Mahoning and Trumbull County, Ohio State and American Bar Associations. He is a former Trustee and President of the Mahoning County Bar Association and is currently a Trustee of the Mahoning County Bar Association. He remains active in the Bar Association Speaker's Bureau and in committee work.
Mr. Wilson was recently elected to the International Society of Barristers and is a Fellow of the Ohio State Bar Foundation and the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is involved in community activities and various civic organizations in his hometown of Warren.
His areas of concentration include the defense of legal and medical malpractice cases, automobile and premises liability litigation; civil rights and municipal/township litigation; commercial, corporate and probate litigation.
Marshall Buck attended Ohio University. He then entered the U.S. Army where he became a Captain in the Special Forces. After military service, he attended Ohio Northern University and began his practice in Youngstown, Ohio in 1980.
He is a member of the Mahoning County, Ohio State and American Bar Associations. He is active in civic and community activities, coaching youth baseball and soccer and has been elected as a permanent member of the Board of Trustees of the Canfield Baseball Club. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute.
Marshall Buck maintains a practice in the areas of defense of Medical and Legal Malpractice, Civil Rights and Municipal Litigation, Corporate, Commercial and Civil Litigation.
Mr. Comstock received his B.A. from the College of Wooster and his law degree from the Ohio State University. He is licensed to practice in the state and federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court.
In addition, Mr. Comstock is a 20-year veteran of the fire service and is currently Chief of the Western Reserve Joint Fire District in Poland, Ohio. A Chief Fire Officer designee, he lectures on fire service topics relating to chief and company officer operations, liability, and personnel issues. His written articles have appeared in Fire Chief, Fire Engineering, and Fire House magazines. Mr. Comstock is also a certified professional insurance investigator.
Mr. Comstock is a member of the American Bar Association (Sections of Litigation, Tort and Insurance Practice), Ohio State Bar Association, and Mahoning County Bar Association, the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys, and the Defense Research Institution. He is also a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators, the Ohio Auto Theft Investigators Association, National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators, the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association, the International Association of Fire Chiefs, and the National Fire Protection Association.
Bobbie Flynt's practice includes General Civil Litigation, Insurance Coverage Issues, Premises Liability and Municipal Liability.
She graduated cum laude from Wright State University in 1989. She attended the University of Dayton School of Law where she was executive editor of the Law Review and graduated cum laude in 1996. She is a member of the Mahoning County, Ohio State and American Bar Associations.
