With over thirty years experience as a criminal defense attorney, Jim Parkman
received national recognition as part of the legal team that represented and
successfully defended former HealthSouth chief executive Richard Scrushy against
securities fraud charges.
The first lawyer to try a case under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, Parkman is a
confidant white-collar attorney whose legal skills have been presented in

A graduate of the University of Alabama, Jim obtained his Juris Doctor with
honors from Cumberland Law School where he was awarded the distinguished
Achievement Award from the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is
admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court of the Middle District, the U.S.
Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the
Southern District. Jim is a member of the National Association of Criminal
Defense Lawyers, the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and a member
