A Charleston native, Jim returned to his beloved hometown after practicing at two firms ranked in American Lawyer's top 50 list: Alston & Bird LLP in Atlanta, Georgia and Hunton & Williams LLP in Richmond, Virginia.
He works regularly with corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, shareholder buy-outs, private securities offerings, and business purchase and sale agreements, including business succession issues.

Brian is a Summerville native who, prior to law school, provided consulting services for start-up companies while working at the Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership at Clemson University.
He's served as compliance analyst and equities trader at Automated Trading Desk, a division of Citigroup, and was an associate at the law firm of Manaker, Cipolla and Associates before joining Buxton & Collie, LLC.

Abe Gutting is Special counsel with experience in various tax matters. He leads the firm's Tax and Estate Planning Groups. He regularly advises clients on tax and legal issues regarding simple and comprehensive estate plans as well as representing and advising clients in various trust and estate administration matters. Abe routinely represents clients in audit and/or appeal with federal, state and local taxing authorities. He has extensive experience working with individuals, corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships on general commercial and business transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, shareholder buy-outs, and other business succession issues.

Nate is a Vermont native who, after earning his undergraduate degree at Clemson, moved to Charleston to pursue both a J.D. and MBA. An active member of the legal community, Nate's corporate practice has grown to include assisting corporations and business entities with formations, sales and purchase, shareholder buy-outs, private securities offerings, along with corporate governance issues. Prior to joining Buxton and Collie, Nate developed an interest in legal issues surrounding telemedicine, which has become an active part of his practice as well.

Born and raised on Isle of Palms, Megan spent three years as a 1st grade teacher in Mount Pleasant before attending the Charleston School of Law. After graduating in 2011 she began her legal career in insurance defense and real estate, focusing on complex commercial real estate transactions. Since joining Buxton & Collie in August 2015, Megan's scope of practice has grown to include a variety of corporate transactions.
Megan works regularly with corporations and other business entities in the areas of real estate, practice transitions, corporate transactions, contract negotiation, and corporate governance.
