Minneapolis Divorce Attorney Minnesota Property Division Alimony Lawyer Uncontested Divorce Contested Divorce Legal Separation

In Minnesota, divorced spouses cite financial troubles as one of the major causes for the failure of their marriages. At Burns and Hansen, P.A. we have found, too, that disputes over finances can destroy a relationship: One group of spouses alleges that they make all the money, and the other group cannot get a handle on their spending. The partners cannot decide together on major purchases for the family. One spouse refuses to keep records, cannot balance the checkbook, and runs up "over limit" charges on the credit card. It drives their partners, and their divorce attorneys, crazy. Cost-effective Strategies Creative Solutions for Legal Problems If one of these scenarios, or something like it, matches up with your experience, and you have decided to file for divorce, contact a Minneapolis divorce attorney at our office. We will discuss your situation in relation to Minnesota property division and alimony law. We will guide you through the process and negotiate a reasonable divorce settlement. While most cases settle out of court, if your spouse will not be reasonable, our attorney is a skilled trial lawyer and will take your case to court. Contact our office to discuss family law issues, including divorce, legal separation, support, alimony, property division, and other financial aspects. We also assist with prenuptial agreements and other aspects of family estate planning.

Child Custody

You never stop being a parent. While your family may change, you still want to be there for your kids. Coming up with the right child custody and visitation plan is the first step. At the St. Louis Park law offices of Burns & Hansen, P.A., we protect

The best child custody plans require two parents who are willing to work together to do what is best for their kids. Developing a child custody settlement and visitation schedule requires clear communication, not just during negotiation, but after a settlement has been reached. We always encourage our clients to work with their co-parents, so they can put in place the mechanisms needed to protect their kids. You want to structure your child custody settlement in such a way that your children have every opportunity to succeed. Taking a collaborative approach when possible, we encourage our clients not to let disputes over money bleed into concerns over their children. We will make sure you keep your kids' futures in mind, because every decision you make now will have an impact down the road. Most parents are reasonable and will work for a fair settlement, but problems do arise. If you are involved in a child custody dispute, we have the trial experience and resources to protect your interests, and your children, in court. We will work to resolve your dispute in a manner that keeps your children out of the middle as much as possible.
