Alexandra C. Benton has been licensed for 2 years and focuses her practice on the following Areas of Law:

-Contracts
-Family Law
-Property Law
-Personal Injury
-Business Formation
-Agricultural Law
-Estate Planning
-Consumer Protection
-Wills

Alexandra Benton joined Blair & Stroud following her graduation from law school in 2019. While in school, Alexandra clerked with a Memphis firm and also worked as a student attorney with the school's Elder Law Clinic. Through the clinic, Alexandra provided pro bono representation to low income, senior citizens across a broad range of substantive areas including consumer protection, financial exploitation, conservatorships, real property issues, health care, social security, wills, powers of attorney, and advanced directives.

During her time in law school, Alexandra was extended membership to the Leo S. Bearman Sr. Inn of Court. Alexandra also served in various leadership positions including serving as the President of the Association for Women Attorneys, and as the Executive Director and Public Relations Director of StreetLaw. In addition to these roles, Alexandra retained membership in Phi Alpha Delta, Public Action Law Society, Christian Legal Society, and the Business & Tax Law Society. Alexandra also attended the University of Cambridge, Downing College in the United Kingdom during the summer through a study abroad course, studying international law.

Alexandra is a native of Batesville, Arkansas. She received her B.A. from the University of Arkansas in 2016. In her free time, Alexandra enjoys dove and waterfowl hunting, cheering on the Razorbacks, and supporting her undergraduate sorority, Tri Delta. Alexandra is engaged to Benjamin Benton, and has three dogs, Luke, Otis, and Harper.

PRO BONO
Alexandra provides pro bono representation through Legal Aid of Arkansas. As Arkansas' poverty population grows, so does the need for representation of their interests. About 16% of Arkansas citizens live at or below the poverty level, compared to 12.4% nationwide. In the Delta area, fully 25% of the population lives in poverty. Meanwhile, federal funding for legal-services programs has continued to decrease, while the State of Arkansas provides no appropriation for civil legal services. Combined with the sizable, growing population of needy residents, this lack of resources creates a perfect storm of injustice.
