Foreclosure

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

We chose to concentrate on bankruptcy because it is one of the few areas of the law where ordinary people can get immediate and dramatic relief. Clients usually leave our office smiling, having an incredible burden lifted -- knowing they have been given a fresh start.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others?

Spending over 28 years working exclusively in the field of bankruptcy makes us uniquely knowledgeable.

A few years ago, the courts organized a talk for other bankruptcy lawyers on how to manage a case successfully. There were four speakers at that talk: the judge, the Chapter 13 trustee, an attorney who used to work for the trustee, and John Raymond. When the court organized another talk a few months ago, the only lawyer asked to speak--who was not associated with the Court or the Trustee's Office--was again John Raymond.

Every couple of years, we get an employee of the local U.S. Bankruptcy Court who needs to file his or her own bankruptcy. That they choose to file with The Bankruptcy Center of John D. Raymond is a wonderful acknowledgement of our quality, creative strategies, and powerful representation.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

We pride ourselves on the individualized service we offer and the results we get.

Rather than try to put a client into a basic mold -- as, unfortunately, too many law firms tend to do -- we tailor make the solution to fit the client. Examples include repayment plans for cars, taxes, and houses where a school teacher pays minimal amounts in the summer or a roofing contractor pays minimal amounts in the rainy season.

We once saved a client's house in 38 minutes from the time the client walked into our office until the foreclosure sale was set. We really make a difference in our clients' lives.
