Michael Crosby is a Rockford native and happily married to the former Susan Liston also of
Rockford, Illinois. They are the proud parents of four children. Shortly after graduating from law
school, Attorney Crosby was employed as Regional Counsel to former U.S. Senator Bob Dole
from 1977-79. Senator Dole was the United States Presidential Candidate for the Republican
Party in 1996 and was the United States Vice Presidential Candidate for the Republican Party in
1976.In late 1979, Attorney Crosby resigned from Senator Doleâs staff and returned to Rockford
where he launched his law practice in 1980. As the President and Managing Attorney for The
American Law Firm, Attorney Crosby is responsible for the management and administration of
the law firm. Throughout much of his life, Attorney Crosby has been active in many church,
civic, and professional endeavors including a seat on the Illinois State Bar Associationâs Real
Estate Section Council. His main practice areas include Divorce/Family Law, Bankruptcy,
Advanced Care Planning and Probate, Personal Injury Claims, DUI/Traffic and Criminal,
Corporate and Business, and Real Estate.
Mark Brynteson is a successful personal injury/transactional lawyer and businessman. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry in 1980 and Juris Doctorate in 1989. Following graduation from Law School, he formed his law firm with two colleagues and has been actively practicing for over 25 years. Mark quickly distinguished himself as one of the outstanding trial lawyers in the Tidewater area of Virginia. During his first year of practice, he was a key member a litigation team that won a $5 million wrongful death verdict in the Chesapeake Circuit Court. Since then he has continued to achieve successful results for his clients, now more than $30 million dollars. Mark's primary areas of litigation practice are medical negligence, wrongful death, and personal injury. Mark also provides Estate Planning Services to the public. He assists people in their estate planning matters, be it the preparation of a will or trust, with personal concern. He believes in education-based planning, with the goal to educate people in their planning options and assist them in making informed quality decisions.
Attorney Dave Hugdahl was born in Wisconsin, and he moved to Rockford Illinois at a very
young age. Attorney Hugdahl has been practicing law in the Rockford area for over 20 years. He
is happily married and has two beautiful daughters. His hobbies include hiking and photography
and cross-country skiing. Attorney Hugdahl concentrates most of his law practice in the areas of
Criminal Defense as well as DCFS and Juvenile Defense matters. Furthermore, Attorney Hugdahl
represents individuals regarding DUI, Traffic, and License Reinstatement matters.
Attorney Burza-Smith concentrates her practice in the areas of advanced care planning, wills,
trusts, probate, and trust administration. Danielle graduated from Northern Illinois University
College of Law and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2010 and the Michigan Bar in 2013.
A Michigan native, Danielle moved to Illinois in 2007, where she lives with her husband and
Boston Terrier. In her free time, Danielle is usually spending time outside with her husband and
dog or taking road trips with them to Michigan to visit family and friends.
Tyler is a native of the Stateline Area. He grew up in Rockford where he attended Rockford
Christian High School. Tyler returned to Rockford after graduating law school in May of 2016
and intends to remain here indefinitely. Outside of the practice of law, he enjoys spending time
with his girlfriend, friends, and family. Tyler is a self-proclaimed history buff whose other
hobbies include keeping up with sports, fishing, and hiking. Attorney Crosby focuses on
assisting our Personal Injury, Family Law, and Estate Planning departments.
Attorney Ainsworth has practiced throughout northeastern Illinois for nine years. His Passion
and most of his court matters have been in family law cases- protecting the interests of children
and making sure his clients’ property is preserved. Owen has also handled probate, civil
litigation, criminal and real estate cases. Owen combines a gift for being willing help with a
deep knowledge of the Law. A Joliet native Owen now resides in the Illinois valley area with his
wife and five children, music and books are his favorite when time allows.
Christian Solares has joined our team as an Of-counsel attorney focusing on Immigration Law
and Transactional Law. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Business Degree in 2006 and MBA
in 2012. Eager to contribute to the community he later earned his Juris Doctorate in 2016 from
Northern Illinois University. He is a member of the Winnebago County Bar Association and the
Illinois State Bar Association. Christian currently resides in the Rockford area with his wife and
