Probate

We assist with the administration of probate and non-probate Estates and Trusts.

After a loved one passes, there remains the often burdensome or confusing responsibility of administering their estate or trust. Assets must be located, and valued. Debts must be assessed and paid. Taxes must be filed. And ultimately, the estate must be distributed. We advise Personal Representatives, Trustees, and other interested parties on this process, becoming as involved as the client desires. We may manage the entire process and complete all required court filings, or we may guide you through completing these items yourself.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

It is helpful for clients to be educated and important that they stay informed and active in pursuing their goal. However, we believe it is our job to educate our clients on their issues, their options, and the legal basis behind both.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Although we are willing to review documents prepared by clients, it has been our experience that it is more cost effective to create the documents.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

If the firm's representation of a client is not cost effective, the best course of action is for the client to represent themselves. If this is the case, we will fully support the client and help them obtain their desired outcome.
