Alan A. Fowler is a tenacious criminal trial lawyer who is committed to protecting his clients' time, money, and reputations.
He believes most people are not hardened career criminals, but, instead, good people who have made mistakes or otherwise acted out of character.
And, he believes that everyone deserves a compassionate, thoughtful, and zealous advocate to ensure the best possible outcome for their case.
Alan was born in Guam, but spent most of his childhood in Orlando, Florida. Growing up in the Boy Scouts and achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, Alan felt committed to serving others as an adult. At first, Alan pursued a career in law enforcement, but, while studying at the University of Central Florida, Alan became more fascinated with the practice of law as an attorney than application of law enforcement as an officer. Shortly thereafter, Alan graduated with a double-majored degree in English and Legal Studies. While at UCF, Alan was a two-time member and Captain of the school's Trial Team, and he worked at several law offices.
Later, Alan attended Mercer University School of Law. While there, he clerked for a Superior Court judge, and he won awards in a written and verbal advocacy competition. He also earned a Certificate in Advanced Legal Writing, Research & Drafting.
During his time there, Alan felt compelled to serve our country, and he was one of 5% of all nationwide applicants to be accepted into the U.S. Navy JAG Corps. Alan's Navy training included an intense litigation and trial advocacy curriculum. While in training, Alan was hand-selected to prosecute a mock court-martial, containing a novel fact pattern that would be used for future classes. After his training, Alan reported to his first duty station in Everett, Washington (located north of Seattle), where he defended Navy Sailors and Marines in courts-martial and administrative panels.
While in Everett, Alan defended many Nav Sailors and Marines in complicated matters, such as fraud, child pornography, rape, arson, and drug use, possession, and distribution.
Alan and his wife then left the Pacific Northwest for a more familiar and warmer assignment, Key West, Florida. The couple had honeymooned there and dreamed of moving there one day. In Key West, Alan served as the Staff Judge Advocate to Naval Air Station Key West, which is akin to serving as a city attorney.
This reverse role helped Alan grow as a trial lawyer and an advocate. He learned to understand the nerve center of the government. He advised the local Naval Criminal Investigation Service detachment and learned how investigators approach cases, their strengths, and their weaknesses. Furthermore, he learned the government's thought process in reaching a satisfactory plea agreement. He was involved in dozens of criminal investigations, and he represented the government in dozens of administrative panels and disciplinary proceedings.
ALAN'S APPROACH TODAY
Steve Jobs once said, "It's better to be a pirate than join the Navy." For Alan, it seemed it was better to be a legal pirate than to stay in the Navy.
Alan felt a calling to advocate for citizens in court, and he felt the draw of being an entrepreneur.
So, in July 2012, he left active duty to start Alan Fowler Law, PLLC. Alan continues his military career as a reservist.

We listen, we learn, and we immerse ourselves in your story and your needs.
Our goal is to fully understand what you value and what you need.
By exploring your life, your goals, and your future plans, we are able to determine how to proceed and what needs to be done to give you the best possible chance of winning your case or solving your problem.
