Downloading an eBook purchase

In what format can I download my eBook?

You can download your eBook in either an ePub or PDF format. Certain devices work best with certain eBook formats, so here is a simple breakdown:

ePub or PDF: iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Windows device
ePUB preferred: Sony eReader, Android device, other generic eReaders
PDF preferred: laptop/desktop computer, Kindle
NOTE: Although Kindle does not support ePub, CNET has an article describing how to make ePub available for Kindles here:

Where do I download my eBook?

The final order screen (showing your Order#) will have a "Download Now" button which allows you to download your eBook right away.

If you do not download your eBook right away, you have the following options:

If you created an account before ordering, your download will be in the My Online Products area of your Nolo.com account for 1 year from your Order Date.
Log into your account here to find your download.
If you DID NOT create an account before ordering, your order confirmation email will include a "Download Now" button within the email, which is good for 7 days from your Order Date.

If you cannot find your eBook after download, here are some common places to check:

your Documents folder
your Downloads folder
your Desktop

Downloading an eForm purchase

Where do I download my eForm?

The final order screen (showing your Order#) will have a "Download Now" button which allows you to download your eForm right away.

If you do not download your eForm right away, you have the following options:

Downloading the Forms for my Nolo book

How do I download the forms from the book?

If the front cover of your book shows a "Download Forms" icon at the upper right corner, you can find the URL in Appendix A or B of your book and put this URL in the address field of your browser. If you do not see this icon, there is no separate download of forms. The forms in the pages of the book should be photocopied or printed.

See below for examples of the address field in different browsers.

The download is a .zip file, so you will need a decompression utility (such as WinZip, WinRAR, 7-Zip, or PKUnzip) to open the file. If you cannot find the file after download, here are some common places to check:

Downloading my Nolo Digital Form

In what format can I download my document?

Your document will download as a PDF. Popups MUST be enabled as the PDF will be generated by opening a new window!!! You will also need Adobe Reader to download and print your form. If it's not already on your computer, you can download it for free at adobe.com. After you generate your PDF form, save a copy to your computer. This way, if you don't have access to a printer now, or if you don't have access to the internet in the future, you can print copies of your form later.

If you cannot find your Digital Form after download, here are some common places to check:

How do I save my Nolo Digital Form to my computer?

Popups MUST be enabled as the PDF will be generated by opening a new window!!!

Click Print to generate a PDF of your document in a popup window.
In the popup window, click Download Document.
Hover your cursor over the lower area of the document window to see if a new set of icons appear near the bottom.
If icons appear, click on the icon that looks like a floppy disk to SAVE.
If icons do not appear, click File – Save As. File Type should show “PDF.” If it shows “HTML”, try downloading using another browser.

In what format can I download my document?

Your document will download as a PDF. You will need Adobe Reader to download and print your will. If it's not already on your computer, you can download it for free at adobe.com. After you download your will, save a copy to your computer. This way, if you don't have access to a printer now, or if you don't have access to the internet in the future, you can print copies of your will later.
