Despite your best planning and intentions, you may need to move before your lease is up. Use this document if your landlord agrees to release you from your obligations -- this may require that you find a suitable replacement.
Be sure to read the full instructions that accompany this form before proceeding.
Important to Know
- If your landlord won't let you break your lease, you may be able to assign it to someone else for the rest of the lease term. In that case, use " Consent to Assignment of Residential Lease."
- In most states, landlords must allow early termination of a lease under certain conditions. Examples include a tenant’s call to active military service or a tenant’s wish to move to a care facility.
