Use this bill of sale when you buy or sell a vehicle that must be registered with your state’s motor vehicles department. This typically includes cars, trucks, motorcycles, recreational vehicles and motor homes.

Important to Know:
- If the vehicle is a boat, use "Boat Bill of Sale"
- If you’re the buyer and don’t know the seller personally, check with the motor vehicles department where the vehicle is registered to be sure no one else claims an interest (lien) in the vehicle.
- Don’t use this bill of sale for stationary, nonregistered mobile homes that are designed to be used semi-permanently at a fixed location, such as a mobile home park.
