Nebraska Allows Transfer-on-Death Deeds

Nebraska has joined the increasing number of states that authorize transfer-on-death (TOD) deeds as a way of leaving real estate at death. TOD deeds, which take effect only when the landowner dies, are an easy and inexpensive way to avoid probate for real estate. The Nebraska law takes effect January 1, 2013.
