Errata: Washington's Foreclosure Law Procedures

In 2011, the legislature changed the law so that mortgage holders must make this contact for all loans, regardless of when they were written.

In the Appendix to fourth edition of The Foreclosure Survival Guide (available September 12, 2013), the Washington foreclosure law summary states that the mortgage holder must personally contact the homeowner at least 30 days prior to serving a notice of default for loan written between 2003 and 2008. In 2011, the legislature changed the law so that mortgage holders must make this contact for all loans, regardless of when they were written.
