Empower yourself with our plain-English information
The California Secretary of State now has fillable articles of incorporation forms for nonprofit and general stock corporations on its website. If you are forming a corporation in California, you have the option of either using the fillable articles form on the Secretary of State’s website or you can prepare your own document. Whether you use the fillable form or create your own articles, you will need to file your articles of incorporation by mail; there is no online filing option.
The articles of incorporation forms in all current Nolo products (How to Form Your Own California Corporation, 15th edition; and How to Form a Nonprofit Corporation in California, 15th edition) are up-to-date and can be used to create your California for profit or nonprofit corporation.
