Should I turn down a good plea bargain and hope for jury nullification?
Defendants who rely on jury nullification are usually disappointed. Jurors almost always limit their deliberations to whether the defendant committed the charged crime. Political overtones and feelings of sympathy or hostility notwithstanding, jurors rarely acquit defendants who they think are actually guilty.
