In addition to leaving feedback about a seller, a buyer can now also leave detailed seller ratings (DSRs) in four areas:
item as described,
communication,
shipping time, and
shipping and handling charges.
The system uses a one- to five-star scale and you can leave DSRs from the Leave Feedback page. (You must leave it at the same time you leave your Feedback rating and comment.) DSRs will have a greater impact on sellers in coming years as eBay plans to alter its search engine so that merchants with lower DSRs get less exposure on search results and sellers with higher buyer satisfaction ratings get better exposure. In addition, sellers who continue to score low DSR may be required to offer safe purchasing options.
