Can a landlord let the police search an apartment after an eviction?

Landlords typically cannot allow the police into their renters’ apartments without a warrant. But it’s a different story when the defendant has been evicted. If the eviction process is complete, the landlord’s consent generally provides a legal basis for the search. The same is true if a lessee has abandoned an apartment.
