Previous Employment Summary

Prior to starting my practice, I worked for other boutique law firms that focused on immigration law.

Activities and Awards

I am a frequent guest speaker for local schools, businesses, and community organizations on various subjects about immigration, estate planning and business law.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I think educating yourself on legal issues is good. But often times, there a lot of incorrect or inaccurate information out there. It is not a good idea to believe everything you "heard" from others or "read" on the internet. In many situations, it is beneficial to retain the services of a qualified attorney so your case will not be compromised.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

We do offer consultation for clients with specific questions about any forms or documents they may have at our hourly rate.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I think my job as an attorney is to advise clients of their options and assist them through the legal process, rather than to "coach" them. Some people may think that it is less expensive if they represent themselves. But, please remember that no matter what, you will "pay" for the work that needs to be done in order to go through the process successfully. If you are not willing to pay an experienced attorney or put in the necessary time and effort to do it on your own successfully, you will "pay" by dealing with endless processing delays or even the denial of you case due to your inexperience and lack of professional legal representation. Our goal is to advise and guide our clients through the intricate legal maze, particularly with the ever-changing U.S. immigration law.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

Many people regret going through life without a meaningful purpose. I decide to be a lawyer because I have a passion for helping others and for problem solving. Everyday I'm exposed to people with different kinds of issues. By utilizing my ability and professional skills, I can assist them to resolve their problems. I believe that you can truly be happy as a lawyer if you enjoy what you are doing. I honestly enjoy what I do.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I have been gaining experienced in immigration law since law school, where I worked on a pro bono basis with nonprofits. I have had a lot of experience representing clients with immigration needs. I also have great mentors, including judges, professors, and other lawyers. Many of them have remained friends of mine.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

Many of my family members are immigrants. My parents immigrated here decades ago so that we could have better lives and obtain higher education. I have firsthand experience of what many of my clients are going through while trying to make new lives here. It was an easy choice for me to go into immigration law… so I may assist others to achieve their American dreams and becoming citizens of this great country.

What do you like best about your career?

I love meeting people from all over the world, helping with their legal issues and learning about other customs and cultures. All of my clients are unique, and many remain friends with me even after their cases are completed.

Tell us about your law firm:

I am the principal attorney of the firm, and both my assistant and I are bilingual. I work with other co-counsels and associates who specialize in other related areas of the law, including business and family law. We work together on a regular basis and we handle matters as a team. I personally review every document and form prepared in my office before it goes out. We strive to provide effective legal services at reasonable rates.

What are your strengths and style?

I'm bilingual; I am fluent in both Chinese and English. I'm also very experienced, detail oriented and good at what I do.

I am very easy going and very attentive to my clients' situations.

Personal Interests:

I enjoy traveling, drawing and meeting new friends. I'm also a beginning golfer.
