The Immigration Law Offices of Curtis Pierce represent individuals from all over the world who seek to lawfully reside in the United States.
We have been in downtown Los Angeles since 1999, which allows us to be in close proximity to the immigration courts as well as the Federal Building, where the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services is located. We represent clients from all over the world. I have argued several cases before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals that have resulted in published opinions.
Before opening my own practice, I worked several years for a respected immigration firm in Los Angeles.
From 1992-1995, I taught Constitutional Law at the Sorbonne (University of Paris).
I am currently an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. In addition, I have lectured fellow immigration attorneys on the topic Voluntary Departure at a program presented by the Immigration Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
I'm impressed when I see clients try to understand the intricacies of immigration law. Nevertheless, immigration law is so complicated and involved that there will inevitably be many questions for the attorney. That's where I feel it is my job to fill in the gaps and clarify the areas of confusion.
Many answers to these questions can only be learned by long years of experience.
Yes. However, in most cases I believe that individuals seeking immigration benefits should be represented by counsel. After 9/11, scrutiny of immigration petitions is at all time high.
In certain cases I feel it is permissible to allow a client to appear without counsel at an immigration proceeding, but only after I have thoroughly prepared the client and reviewed his/her application.
As the son of immigrant parents, I decided to become an immigration lawyer because I am sensitive to the problems of immigrants and find the issues in this field fascinating and challenging. I also enjoy immigration law because it allows me to meet people from all over the world and keep up with my Spanish and French.
Writing articles and speaking at seminars to fellow immigration lawyers helps me to better my skills.
As stated above, I feel a bond to the immigrant community.
Winning difficult cases is what I like best.
I have an expanding firm with highly intelligent and enthusiastic support staff.
My unique strength is being conscientious and sensitive to the particular needs of my clients.
I am informal and personable, but extremely serious at the same time.
Spanish and French languages.
