Firm Focus and History

I am a sole practitioner, and I began my firm after a career in law enforcement. Our firm specializes in providing quality representation in all areas of family law with a particular emphasis in divorce parentage, and child custody and support cases.

Previous Employment Summary

I was a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, attaining the rank of sergeant. I was also a military policeman with the United States Army.

Activities and Awards

I was a member of the Los Angeles Superior Court Sponsored Paternity Law Panel representing parents in child support cases enforced by the County Child Support Service Department (formerly known as the District Attorney).

I am currently a volunteer mediator in Los Angeles Superior Court, mediating divorce cases.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I am a strong proponent in clients' self education as it enables them to become part of the process in resolving their cases. An educated client is for the most part a more satisfied client.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I am more than happy to review document prepared by clients. However, my role as an attorney is to analyze and improve on the ultimate product that is eventually filed and considered by the court.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

This depends on the situation.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I decided to become a lawyer to help people in need in resolving their problems.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

My experience as a police officer has taught me to be empathetic but assertive should the need arise. This experience has benefited my clients in the courtroom as well as in settlement negotiations. My graduation from top-tiered universities as well as my practice of remaining abreast in the dynamic area of family law provides my clients with unparalleled representation.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I enjoy the complexities inherent in the dynamics of family law.

What do you like best about your career?

I enjoy the ability to make a positive difference in the lives of my clients and their children.

My office is located in a suite of about nine other attorneys and I have a network of professional colleagues. The resources at my disposal enhance the representation of my clients throughout the divorce process.

What are your strengths and style?

I am extremely well-versed in child support law. I also have an excellent reputation and familiarity with local judges, attorneys and court staff.

My style is personable yet assertive. My style maintains zealous advocacy on behalf of my clients.

Nolo's Licensing Check

Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the applicable bar associations upon joining the directory.

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any bar association.
