Example Cases
I handled a civil litigation matter where there was a failure to disclose water intrusion by the prior seller, real estate agent, home inspector and roof inspector, leading to significant medical injuries and property damage for the client as a exposure to mold. Through extensive discovery and retaining of proper experts, I was able to negotiate a substantial six figure settlement to repair her home and compensate her for the mold exposure.
I handled a civil litigation matter where a client slipped and fell leading to multiple fractures as a result of a dangerous condition at the water park. The park initially denied the condition, but through discovery of prior incidents at the water park, I was able to establish a pattern. The water park eventually paid a substantial settlement for my client's injuries.

Previous Employment Summary
Following graduation, I worked for Kazan, McClain, Abrams, Fernandez, Lyons, Farrise & Greenwood, a Plaintiff's asbestos litigation firm located in Oakland, California. I focused on civil discovery and drafting of motions in preparation for trial.
Thereafter, I moved to Southern California to work for Calendo, Puckett, Sheedy, & DiCorrado representing insurance companies in defending personal injury matters. I then worked for Avila & Peros, handling real estate disputes, employment litigation, and business litigation. I gained extensive experience handling complex litigation matters while in Southern California.
I returned to Sacramento to work for Hayes & Associates where I primarily represented Plaintiffs in matters of residential real estate including construction defect, failure to disclose, and mold litigation.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
I believe clients should educate themselves about the legal issues of their case so they can better understand the attorney's strategy and evaluation of their case. I am encouraged when clients are seeking to educate themselves, as this often means they are focused on their claim and protecting their rights.
Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?
Yes. I provide a free consultation and will review documents to provide a thorough evaluation of their case. Each client deserves the right to have their case examined carefully before a decision can be reached regarding representation.
Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
As part of my free initial consultation, I will let the client know their options regarding their case. These options will include representing themselves in small claims court or superior court.
Why did you decide to be a lawyer?
In addition to having family around the world that are lawyers, I've always enjoyed helping people and protecting their rights.
What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?
Spending years working for insurance defense law firms gave me perspective on tactics the defense uses to eliminate or limit their liability in a case. I believe this experience is extremely helpful in assisting individuals in maximizing their recovery in personal injury and other legal matters.
Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?
I enjoy working with individuals and helping them understand the civil litigation process and how to maximize their recovery.
What do you like best about your career?
I really enjoy working with people to solve their legal problems.

The firm is a sole proprietorship. I am the person that speaks with client and handles their case. If they have any concerns, I speak with the client directly.
What are your strengths and style?
I know what insurance companies evaluate in making decisions regarding a personal injury claim. Through this knowledge, I am able to persuasively present your case and place pressure on the insurance company to maximize your recovery.
I provide personal attention to the client and aggressive representation when dealing with the insurance company.

If the case is a personal injury case handled on a contingency basis, there generally will be no costs for services or fees.
Hourly Rates
If the case is handled on an hourly fee agreement, I charge $150 per hour.

Typical Retainer
If the case is handled on an hourly fee agreement, I generally request a $2,000 retainer. This can change depending on nature of the case.
