Firm Focus and History

We represent people who have been denied SSI or Social Security disability benefits. We help people at all stages of the appeal including administrative hearings, Appeals Council review, and United States federal court litigation.

Previous Employment Summary

I have had my own office representing individual's claims against government entities, insurance companies and corporations for 25 years.

Activities and Awards

I frequently address various professional and community groups on law related issues.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Knowledge is a good thing. We always encourage clients to be aware of the legal issues. On our website www.Davidleeattorney.com we have quite a bit of useful information about social security laws and procedures.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I review all of the documents that clients prepare.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Our expertise is in presenting cases to judges. This expertise is the result of years of experience and continual learning. It would be difficult to teach a client everything that would be necessary in a hearing.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I became a lawyer, because it gave me the opportunity to use my skills in ways that are helpful to people.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I have had somewhere in the neighborhood of one thousand administrative hearings. Over the years, you get a good understanding of what is effective and what is not.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I enjoy helping people.

What do you like best about your career?

I like that I get to choose who I represent. As a result, I get to be on the "right" side of every issue. That is a luxury that lawyers representing insurance companies and big corporations do not have and I like the people. Everybody is special in their own way and it is rewarding to get to meet so many different people.

Tell us about your law firm:

My firm has represented Social Security claimants for more than twenty years and we are good at what we do. We assist claimants at all levels of appeals including administrative hearings with the judge, Appeals Council review and federal court appeals.

What are your strengths and style?

I am good at what I do largely because I read and write well. Unlike many lawyers, I can speak plainly and make my ideas easily understandable.

I am relaxed, calm, and easy to talk to.

Personal Interests:

Like everybody, I am interested in health, happiness and family.

Nolo's Licensing Check

Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the applicable bar associations upon joining the directory.

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any bar association.
