This California Court of Appeal decision confirmed the principle that an owner of land still has the right to use his property as he sees fit as long as that use does not interfere with the rights of the easement.

I established my practice in St. Helena in 1991 after practicing law in San Francisco for fifteen years. My goal is to provide superior legal services helpful to the people who live and work in the Napa Valley.
Associated with the Law Offices of Joseph L. Alioto;
Partner in Cannata & Papale
My activities include real estate development and real estate investment.
I think education is a very good idea. It is far easier and more efficient to develop a good case if the client is well informed about the matter.
Yes, I am happy to review and edit clients' documents.
Certainly this will depend upon the individual.
I have always taken an interest in reasoning, logic and debate. I became intrigued with the law early in life and worked in law offices during my high school and college years.
I had the opportunity to clerk for and then practice law with Joseph L. Alioto, the former Mayor of San Francisco and one of the premier antitrust litigators in the country. I participated in many major national trials and many large, multilevel settlements.
Real estate is one area in which I can best serve local clients. I own investment property and vineyard land in the Napa Valley and understand both the business and legal aspects of property ownership and development.
I enjoy meeting people and learning about new businesses and industries.
After spending years in San Francisco in a large plaintiffs' antitrust firm and then in a partnership focused on business litigation, I moved my family to St. Helena. I am now a sole practitioner, which allows me direct contact with my clients. My practice style is well suited for a small community.
My strength is the effort I make in every case to see all sides of a conflict and then apply good judgment and patience to achieve a resolution. My expertise is founded upon a diverse background in the law which has provided me with perspective and a broad knowledge base.
I have an informal working style in which I deal directly with my clients, listening carefully to their concerns and objectives.
