What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I support it. An educated client makes better decisions.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Limited. Clients sometimes want document review, when they really want full service and "hand holding." Clients don't understand the concept very well, even when explained to them, so I am willing to do it provided the client understands.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I have done this, especially Spanish speakers, in Small Claims court cases.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

Personality.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I was a court interpreter for 5 years in state and federal court (Spanish).

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

Work with Spanish speakers due to my background.

What do you like best about your career?

What I like best is to work with people.

Tell us about your law firm:

Legal Assistant Lydia Esteve-Gonzalez, Doctor in Law, University of Alicante, Spain and lawyer in Spain.

What are your strengths and style?

My unique strength is a cultural understanding of Latino clients.

Friendly; client makes the decisions; I provide advice.

Personal Interests:

I enjoy law and linguistics (English and Spanish).
